Yup, this is EXACTLY the problem.  The 2" disks ship with a FAT parition
table which to solaris is greek. :)  What's strange is that the format command
won't just let you label the disk.  You do have to do a low level format
(the destructive analyze command) and it does take a long time to do.

But after that, you will be able to label the disk.
