[rescue] Has freshmeat.net disappeared forever? WAS:::Re: What to do with the SS20

I usually checked it once a week to see what was updated or newly
registered.
I found loads of cool utilities that I didn't know I needed on
there, just by browsing the updates.
Plus, anything that was cool, but didn't
need at the time, was easily findable again.
It's pretty lame that you can't
search any more, surely it hasn't been converted to static pages, so what's
wrong with leaving the search there?

One of the reasons for them stopping the
updates is due to "low traffic levels" according to the announcement.
Oddly,
there's not anything in the blog section about it.

It's a real shame, is
there anything else like it?
I'm sure there was about 8 years ago, but since I
found freshmeat exclusively for this kind of stuff, I seem to have forgotten
what the other site was called.
It is worth taking a copy somehow, even if it
is a static version?
We should not rely on The Internet Archive for something
this important.
