Both exist.. the 1 x 5.25" drive was from the Sun 4c generation, while 
the later 4 x 3.5" was from the Sun 4m generation.

When the 1 x 5.25" drive box was in it's prime it was the only way to 
get more than 424M (IIRC) in a single SCSI drive.

Later the 1G 3.5" drives came out and made the old 1 x 5.25" drive box 
a 'dinosaur'.
