If you don't mind AMD.... I have experience with the Optiplex 740....  I
like them... work pretty well.

As for 'older' Dells... I haven't seen capacitor problems on the 
Dimension 2400
or Dimension 3000.  I've also not seen cap problems on the GX260.  I 
have seen
cap problems on the Optiplex GX270 however.  (these systems being Pentium 4
based boxes).
