One place where I occasionally contribute is the Mac-Managers mailing  
list, which has a very high signal-to-noise ratio, because they  
outright reject any question that can be answered by reading manuals,  
surfing existing Apple & 3rd party support sites, and the like.  So  
the problems that end up there tend to be really 'meaty' ones.

I've received really useful responses to the few problems I've posted  
there as well.

They also have a cool get-together every year in San Francisco on the  
evening before Macworld Expo.
