Very true. I sold the monitor to my father who was absolutely floored by 
how "bright" and "clear" it was and yadda yadda.

By the way, I really am sitting a foot and a half away from the monitor.

If I search the internet for the screen door effect, I found a bunch of 
threads about a Dell flatpanel having a large amount of very noticeable 
effect, and evidentally it uses the same exact panel as my Viewsonic. So 
hopefully I'm not alone..
