Sort of an "Italian Tune-up" for a Windows box, eh?  I've done that, and a
few more similar things, to any number of computers.  Getting rid of the
"Effects," the "Active Desktop," the "View as Web Page" option, and similar
crapola makes even older computers pleasant.  At least compared to how they
were with all that foolishness turned on.

If the phrase "XP teletubby bloat layer" is yours, bravo!  If it's not,
thanks for using it and bringing it to my attention.  It's a standard part
of my vocabulary, starting now.
