later than that.  in '88 my friend and i were still officemates at
att-bl; we were blown out the airlock along with all the other
contractor trash in late june of '91. [0]

accounting blip [rumor] - thought $50M was missing when it wasn't.  a
lot of important project work got dropped on the floor...
good news too late for us: he was asked to 'reevaluste his career
goals'.  they held the going-away party -after- he left.
