Maybe in the US, but not in the UK. Newtons (from what I remember) were
always a bit on the expensive side here and by 1993 Psion had a pretty
mature product. In fact it launched its first 'pda' in 1984, although it
wasn't until 1991 with the Series 3 that anyone other than hard-core
geeks would buy one.
