   The very first ones were pieces of crap, yes.  I was talking about 
the 2000 series.

   The 2000 series isn't a "later version", even by a stretch.  It's a 
completely new piece of hardware, which is immensely more capable, with 
almost all new software, and even with my very sloppy handwriting its 
cursive recognition accuracy was nearly 90% and it lagged behind my 
writing by one or two words at most.
