At the time, I saw it sold as the NewTek Video Flyer, not the Toaster
Flyer.  Although, it was basically just a dual stream
compression/decompression board with onboard SCSI attached to a Toaster
Board set and new software.

I never saw anyone do much non-linear editing with a PAR, even though it
would have been possible.  The closest was I saw a guy use a PAR to
reorder files by hand to build a series of cuts that went by faster than
the Flyer could cut video.  Everyone else I saw using a PAR used it
strictly for comp work, and animation playback.

If you think about it, it made sense.  The PAR board didn't come with
non-linear editing software, and I don't know of any such software for
the amiga that wasn't specifically tied to a piece of other hardware.
It certainly would have been technically possible to use the PAR board
for that task though, and I believe people did it on Windows.
