[rescue] DLT Question

Okay, then I'm really confused.

My drive will get 20/40 out of a DLT IV tape, but a DLT7000 will get
35/70 out of the same tape?  I thought the capacity different was that
the tapes were rated for different bit-densities, and the higher-density
tapes required newer drives (like floppy disks).
