[rescue] Indigo 2 NRAM question

I thought the Dallas chip (DS1286 WATCHDOG) was the NVRAM in an Indigo 2...

However, I set an IP address with setenv, swapped that chip, and the IP
address remained... also the hardware ethernet address also remained.

With a Sun, all this would have changed.

So... the Q is, where is this stuff stored in an Indigo 2, and what is
stored on the DS1286 WATCHDOG chip ?
