Hi all,
I am trying to get an IBM RS/6000 model 390 to work. I've hooked up a
terminal (IBM 3153 emulating 3151) to serial A and managed to install
AIX 5.1L from CD.
When booting after installation is complete, I get a 'Console login:'
prompt on the serial console, but can't log in, when I log in as 'root',
the screen clears and I get a new login: prompt. When I log in as root
and press ^C immediately, I get an error:
3004-034 TSM: All possible term settings tried unsuccessfully.
I've tried:
- using a different terminal (Wyse)
- using a different cable
- using DSR/DTR or not
- using different baud rates
but nothing works. Does this problem sound familiar to anybody? It makes
absolutely no sense to me that a terminal works during install but not
during normal operation..
Cheers,
Walter.
