   A *local* graphical console?  As in, it's an X client that can 
somehow check to see if its X traffic is running through a UNIX-domain 
socket (like /tmp/X0) vs. a TCP connection?

   I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but I find that very 
difficult to accept.  Thinking about it, I'm not even sure it's 
possible from the Xlib API.

   Have you done any research on this?
