I'm working with my fiance to have her drive stick.  She is getting the
hang of it in my car ('99 Jetta), and admitted that she might be finding
it a bit fun on Saturday (I had her drive us to inner harbor, MD for
practice), but she still isn't convinced that standard is the way to
go.  I'm working on it though.

At least, she does want a new Beetle, and she thinks diesel would be
cool.  Just need to keep working on the std. bit, and finding the money
for such a beetle.

On my '99 Jetta, the switch that controlls the interior lights (on, off,
auto, that switch) just fell out.  Other than that my interior is doing
fairly well.  I'm afraid to look underneither the car after last night.
I didn't just light bottom the car.  I really ground the bottom of the
car hard, multiple times, and nearly got stuck.  That is the last time I
try to drive to my fiances grandparents house.  Next time I park at the
church a mile away and we hike the rest cause I'm not taking my car down
that road ever again.

When I bought my latest Jetta, the lot had a '00 Beetle TDI for just
over 10.  A bit beyond my range, and I wasn't sure I wanted to commit to
diesel anyway.  I was afraid I'd get myself into trouble with forgetting
to buy gas until the last minute, then haveing trouble finding a place
that sold diesel.  It's not impossible, or even that hard, but it's not
something every or ever most stations around here do.
