Think about what you're saying.  That's the twisted illogical "western"
nonsense that got us in this situation in the first place.  There's no
need to replace a computer that will last longer than 1.5-3 years.
There's no need to give a new employee a "newer" computer than what
everyone else is currently using (at least there wouldn't be so long as
the suppliers continued to support and supply each model of equipment
for as long as it would "last").

I like to rescue "surplus" gear that will last me many more years than
its original owner thought it would last for them just as much as most
everyone else on this list, but I really wouldn't mind either if all
those "other people" (non-rescuers) treated this technology with even
just a tiny bit more sanity! :-)
