It is possible to to build an external sync separator with a LM1881.
This nice litle DIP 8 thing strips the sync signal from green and
provides C/H/V sync. A friend did this to connect a HP9000 to a non-SOG
PeeCee Monitor. I did somthing similar with a simple OPA comparator
circuit. Worked, but not that well like a LM1881.
