I've never fooled with the civilian ones.  Got LOTS of miles in the military 
version, including throwing a rod at about 85MPH coming home from 
Grafenwoehr on the A3.

Although in general they were very reliable, I still hated them.  Just 
uncomfortable, and too damn big compared to a jeep.
