I would assume so..  I am having a lot of fun playing them on my IPC I
just got running NetBSD 1.5.2..  You have to set the rate to 8000 though
to get them to play. ie: mpg123 -r 8000 file.mp3
I am also playing them on an NFS mounted drive.  No problems.
