[rescue] Interface info for IBM Dials and Buttons boxes?

I just came across a set of Dials and Buttons for
what I'm guessing is an RS/6000... (part # 6094-020
and 6094-010). Physically, they look very similar
to the dials and buttons boxes used on SGIs.

So far, I've been able to determine that these are
RS232 interfaced critters.  What I'd like to 
locate is some document that describes the interface
protocol for these, so I can write drivers for other
systems.  Anyone have this kind of info lying around?
I've tried Google, IBM, etc. but all I've been able
to find is some very rudamentary specs, etc. I would
have thought that IBM would have something available,
but I haven't been able to locate it.
