[rescue] Sun D1000 in non-diff setting?

Has anyone tried and/or succeeded in using a Sun D1000 disk array with
single-ended drives and controllers? 

I'm not sure if there's any magic to the cabling/backplanes in the array,
but I'd like to be able to use SE/LVD (at least at SE speeds) with the
enclosure. I have a lot more LVD disks than HVD, and would like to be able
to do interchange between systems. I have four diff controllers, just no
disks for them. :)
