I thought they supported DV also, although I can't find any reference
to this on their site, which is too bad.  A SB100 with an XVR500, or
anything other that the P somethingsomething 64, and a firewire to
video bridge of some sort would seem to make a nice lowend
workstation, but it doesn't appear that the firewire support is there
(although for very large amounts of money it does look like analog
video capture and SDI capture are available).

I'd go with the U30, period.  Firewire cards can be added, I would
imagine, and so you still will be taken care of if firewire storage is
ever supported.
