The SM81 was originally supposed to run at 95MHz, but there were
reliability problems similar to what happened with the SM40, so they
scaled back to 85.  Those are probably working prototypes of what became
the SM81.

I used to have a GT prototype before giving it to a friend.  That thing
was scary.
