That's actually a bit of a cop-out, or at least a major flaw in your
logic -- you're assuming here that the tools you've chosen are the best
at what they do.  I won't argue argue whether they are or not (because
at least for the M$-based ones I don't ever have a need to do what those
tools can do).  But I will disagree with at least the wording of your
conclusion.

With your flawed logic the only conclusion you can arrive at is that the
operating systems your tools of choice happen to run on (at least for
those which only have one platform of choice) are the best there is for
the jobs you will use the tools for.

If you had a choice of two or more equally capable tools which happened
to run only on opposing operating systems then you'd be able to have a
real choice of the best machine (OS, platform, whatever you want to call
it) for the job (all other things being equal, which of course they
never will be).
