[rescue] Thanks: Advice on 10/100 switches

Well I'd like to thank the list members for their input into my dilemma. I
ended up going with the new-in-box $US300 Nortel Baystack 350 as it meets
all of my needs and then some. The 300+ page manual available on the
Nortel website takes some getting through, it's quite verbose with lots of
examples. I haven't yet tried any hme interfaces on it yet, I've got to
set local mac addresses and configure a couple of vlans first.

For the record, the cheap cat5000 switches I was offered were cheap for a
reason, does anyone have any experience with a network device that's been
subject to "conductive dust"?

Also, FWIW, I do find the occasional off-topic discussion on the list quite
interesting, I don't have the time to read the geeks list though.

cheers,

Rob.
