Greg,

I wasnt saying I would (or rather wouldnt) run a nameserver on 10 systems, I
was saying that I didnt feel like setting up a single nameserver just to
provide services for 10 systems.

I still don't quite understand why anyone would want to run a nameserver
on all their machines.  That's what /etc/resolv.conf is for!

I've got seven servers and one workstation active right now and could
easily bring on four or five more servers and a couple more
workstations; but I only run three nameservers and that's at least one
more than most people need to run.

I run a primary nameserver, a production test nameserver, and a
development/debugging/testing nameserver.

One of these day's I'll practice what I preach and bring up a separate
cache nameserver, but meanwhile having combined primary and cache lets
me see all the bugs everyone else who does it wrong also see!  :-)

My domains are secondaried by various third parties, and my company
recently signed up as an OpenSRS reseller so we could have direct
control over all our own domains and those of the clients who also
choose our DNS services.
