That could very well be (but then with 2-way SMP you don't really need
fine-grained locking!  :-).  like I say, I'm not a Linux user.

The whole NetBSD build is supposed to work with any '-j' that's not too
big to fill up your swap space.

Of course even on a single processor that's any much faster than the
secondary storage it uses will benefit from up to '-j4'.  I've just not
yet been brave enough to try it.....  :-)
