Scott,
Any recent seagate drive runs hot, and any 7200 runs hotter than a typical
5400 IDE or older SCSI drive. That being said, they shouldnt be a problem
assuming adequate ventilation. Now if it was a 10k or a 15k then we'd be
talking some SERIOUS case heat.

I just received my first supersellers order, a couple of 4GB 7200 RPM
Seagate Cudas ($29/each). I'm planning on running one in an IPX. Is this
drive notorious for running hot?
I noticed supersellers entered the shipment into the UPS tracking system
several _days_ before they actually shipped it. If I hadn't read the UPS
tracking page carefully, I might have been fooled into thinking that they
shipped before they really did. Sneaky...
