I just ordered two of the above drives from HiTechCafe.com, I plan on using them for SS/5 or SS/20 applications, which should not be a problem, as they are only 1" high drives.

I just got off the phone with Christof (sp?) in the Tech Support area at HiTechCafe and he confirmed the drives were 1" high, not 1.6".

I think these would be a great way for anyone to add low-cost storage to their SS/4/5/20/Ultras, assuming heat is not a problem (I plan to use these in my Ultra 2/2x300 in place of my current 4 Gig drives 8^).

I also got a new laptop (finally giving up on my Libretto 110 I think, the novelty of the form factor is getting old) - a Portege 3020ct, 3 Lbs., P/300 MMX (not PII or PIII), 96 Meg RAM, 6.4 Gig HD, 10.4" TfT display w/800x600 resolution, as a Mfg. refurbished unit w/90 day warranty from Toshiba for only $599.

A very good deal. The 64 Meg upgrade (that is included in these laptops to take them from their stock 32 Meg RAM to 96 Meg RAM) typically sells for over $200 by itself.

Oh, and Pentium Pro CPUs are on sale there as well, $35 for PPro/200 w/512K cache - a heck of a CPU for a *nix workstation, given current prices, but not sure of value relative to www.centrix-intl.com 's PPro 180's w/256K cache for $12...

Enjoy
