I started out at age 12 doing puch-card programming on IBM as part of a program 
for accelerated students. (Big pile o crap, as far as I'm concerned...  Another 
useless NY state educational gimmick.)

Anyhow, real fun began at age 13 or 14 with a Bell & Howell "Black Apple ][" - 
Dad was head math teacher, and got the grant by default.  I learned it, and 
helped him develop coursework.  This was (1981?)

Started UNIX (SunOS 3.x and, oddly enough, UTX) in '87.  Long time ago, now...  
At 33, I've spent about 2/3 of my life around computers.  I still hate 'em. :-)

(But, they pay the bills!)
