I can say from personal experience that Philips' CDRW drives _SUCK_!

I made the mistake of buying an Omniwriter and it wouldn't even work out of
the box!

It took me two days and another software package entirely from the one I
wanted to use before i could get it to burn, and since then, ti throws
coasters like a big dog...
