I bet you have a community college in your, um, community, and if you were to
register for even just one class, you would be (drum roll please) "a student."
Just make sure you get your ID, as that is what most vendors want to see...

Last I looked, Comdisco had $500 Ultra 2 bases (incl. one 300 MHZ CPU, some RAM,
some framebuffer, and some HD) - not sure though, can't get to their web page...
