IIRC sync on green may be an issue. can you get into it on a serial console?

I know the display that came with my friends HP could switch between SOG and
composite sync. 

Poking around in the equivalent of the HP's nvram settings I seem to recall
being able to set the video hardware to SOG or composite as well. I could be
completely mistaken though.
