The drive, case, and cable each set me back $20. Perhaps a bit high, but
I didn't have to pay shipping on it, and I bought it from the same guy who
sold me my HP machine (at the same time as I bought the HP) because he
said that it would work to boot the HP. He is in Canada somewhere (don't
have the where handy). I wouldn't recommend doing business with him, I
don't think. The drive arrived with unconnected ports (meaning that one
of the cases external ports wasn't connected to the case) and a broken
drive door. Next time, I'm just going to pay the extra and get something
from someone that I can drive to to complain when things go south.

BTW, does anyone know, what is the resolution that the HP 712/80 machines
boot at? I hooked a monitor to that machine that can easily to 1024x768
well, but nothing shows up on the display.
