[SunRescue] [OT] Problem setting up Intel print server

Hello all,

I decided to take an old Intel Printserver out of my "interesting bits bin"
and put it to use, but I am having a problem, and I hope someone here can
help.

I have an Intel NetportExpress/100 three-port print server.

I configured the IP address by doing a ping, arp, then ping to confirm
address set. All is fine (apparently) - I can ping/telnet into the box
fine).

I install the Intel software on a Win PC to configure it, and it always
reports a communication error, try back later.

As I said before, I can ping, ftp and telnet into the box fine.

I can also push the Diag. button and get the information in the printserver
printed on my connected printer.

So, to summarize, I can access the printserver, the printserver can use the
printer, but *I* can't use the printer off the printserver.

The firmware is old (4.10a - current is much higher, per Intel web site).

Anyone have any ideas? I assume many folks here are familiar with
printservers in general, and hopefully this one in particular.

Thanks in advance,

Ken
