I wasn't assuming - you had contributed, but AFAIK we have not solved 
the problem, it is still in play...

Exactly - this is where I was when I sent out the first post...

But, the Windows laptop that has no problem is also on a wireless card. 
I can set the two laptops up next to each other (it is, after all a 
large lap!) and the Win laptop will get in *every* time, the PowerBook 
*may* get in once in a blue-moon...
