One friend in particular of mine is always poking at me for my truck....
it's a 1-ton 4x4, but I don't really haul anything huge like a horse
trailer or gravel, or cement blocks. Most of what I carry could be
handled by an S-10, but I wanted a full-size truck, and I wanted on that
would handle just about anything. In the past I wanted/needed to haul
stuff that my Dads 1/2 ton truck wouldn't do well with.
The funny thing is his truck is a 1/2 ton 4x4 that sits higher (Dodge)
do to factory lift blocks, has pretty agreesive all-terrain tires, but
never sees dirt :-) Plus his truck gets only marginally better fule
milage than mine, and he has the smallest Dodge V8 (318), and I have the
biggest, fo rthe year, V8 in my Chevy....a 454 :-) I get 12.6 on the
highway, he gets maybe 14.5 combined, but still mainly constant speed.
