OK -- I must admit I've never seen an actual UltraSPARC module in person
yet, (or even the inside of any such machine).  I was guessing they
didn't run at +5vdc but I wasn't sure if they varied radically enough to
require field adjustment when upgrading or whatever.

They're getting cheap enough on the used market though and I should
probably try to get my hands on a couple someday soon...

So they're logic lines just like the VID0-VID4 pins on an Intel Slot-1
connector?

I think that's infinitely smarter than putting the VRMs right on the
motherboard like PCs do (or as some older M-bus modules did too).

(of course it means you really do need a custom PS module too!  ;-)
