Oh gawd, and they thought using a cell phone while
driving was distracting - I can just see it now:

"Officer, I have no idea what happened - I was
driving along, working on a sort algoritim and
all of a sudden the car in front of me stops!
What am I supposed to do?" ;^)

We have discussed this before, but long-haul trucking
is far from a simple, blissful job with long stretches
to really think through your problems...

Besides, all you need is one of those crazy guys on
the crotch-rockets to cut in front of you on the
highway, trying to pass a slow car in the fast lane,
and your day, is, uhm, ruined.

Besides, it gets *quite* noisy in a Semi tractor - you
are sitting on top of a *massive* engine, and you have
what, about an inch of insulation to deden the sound.
And let's not even think about the joy you will feel
in your backside when you spend that much time on such
a large, vibrating surface.

It takes a special kind of person to *enjoy* that kind
of work...
