[rescue] OT: getting slashdotted, an interesting experience...

One of my clients is www.designharbor.org, a virtual host on www.zill.net .

Today he made a posting on slashdot (the "Tux Racer" post) and so far over
the course of 3.5 hours the server has shipped out about 250MB of data.
Trafshow's "average data sent per second" algorithm doesn't seem too good,
but I am sending maybe 25-40kBytes/sec.

CPU usage? less than 10%, even with running trafshow .

Everything fits in the disk cache (thank goodness I recompiled the OpenBSD
kernel with a larger network buffer and more RAM for disk cache). So there
is maybe 1 or 2 disk transactions every 5 seconds (as reported by vmstat).

Pretty cool.

(yes, I know my site at www.zill.net sucks)
