[SunRescue] Age, disease, shelving, and, what was that - oh yeah, Sun computers...

I find myself on several maillists, most notably:

Libretto maillist -for users of the diminutive palmtop with the sub 8"
screen.

HP 100/200LX maillist - for users of the legandary DOS based computer
that fits in your shirt pocket.

IBM PC110 maillist - an extremely small PC/PDA that has a 486SX CPU,
up to 20 Megs RAM and 2xPCMCIA and 1xCF slots for storage (like a
Blackberry RIM two-way pager on steroids).

Sparcbook maillist - well, for the sparcbook...

    and this list, sun rescue.

The one common thread among all of them, and the reason I remain on the
lists after I am no longer interested in the platform is that the talk
degenerates into such non-technical areas. Technology is great, it has been
part of my life since I used to read Byte, Kilobaud and Interface Age
magazines (late, late '70s) - but I spend much more time thinking about
non-technical topics.

I don't mind diversions on this maillist at all, but in reflection, the
breadth of topics is quite amazing...

Oh, and I am 36 (with a Jan. 1st bithdate - I think there was at least one
other on the list "blessed" to have a birthday less than one week after
Christmas).

Ken
