Well, the quick power test appears to have been successful, but the
date is a bit wonky - battery?

A little googling and it seems I can just attach an IDE CD-ROM drive
and install Solaris 10 on this beastie without too much hassle... I'll
give that a go tonight.

Install: http://vause.wordpress.com/2010/05/10/installing-solaris-10-on-a-netra-x1-from-cdromdvdrom-console-on-macosx/

I'm going to swap out the 20 Gig IDE drive for an 80 Gig IDE drive,
then maybe a second 80 Gig HD just to fill up the otherwise empty
drive tray (maybe not).

Also, it seems, based on a read of the Netra X1 User Guide this
machine didn't have rails, you mount it on the rack hanging by it's
ears...

User Guide: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19088-01/netrax1.srvr/806-5980-10/806-5980-10.pdf

LOM works fine, POST confirms 400 MHz CPU, 1 Gig RAM (and, of course,
two network ports and a serial port, along with two USB ports of
indeterminate speed).
