Went through this exercise with a coworker yesterday:

Make a list of all the problems in your life, then ask yourself "if I made,
say $20K/yr more and stayed where I am now, would I still have the same list
of problems?"

If the answer to that question is 'yes', then money isn't the problem/answer.
