Your choices:

SmartOS with KVM, and ZFS goodness - but only on Intel VT-x CPUs, AMD 
not supoprted.

Proxmox would be my recommendation: proxmox.com which is based on Debian 
5.  Has OpenVZ for lightweight virtualization of Linux VMs, much lighter 
than Xen.  Has KVM for everything else.  And, the Web GUI actually 
works.  Works on both AMD and Intel CPUs with or without VT-x - you get 
OpenVZ only if the CPU does not support HVM.
