Are you using cddb?  If you're importing CDs, iTunes should either tag  
them automatically or ask you to put in the data (and then upload it  
to cddb) for the tags.

Yup.  Good thing I don't do that.

Huh, I don't have that problem at all.  When do you notice the  
slowness?  Also, have you considered the disk you're running it off of?

On a related note, I ran xbench today on my OS X RAIDZ, by request of  
someone on another mailing list, and the results are either amazing or  
completely worthless.  Any idea which?
