Given that he's pretty much fundie-leaning himself ...

(He's as much as said flat out that where the real world and the Bible 
conflict, it's because reality is in error.  During his election 
campaign, he went so far as to hint to a lot of the fundie groups that 
he had a direct personal mandate from God, and might even possibly be 
the new Messiah.  They, at least, seem to have largely figured out that 
for a New Messiah, he's a bit short on miracles.)
