I've heard rumours of these being repaired by applying pressure and  
heat from a heat gun VERY carefully to the GU chip on the underside of  
the mother board. It's a totally warranty free 'kill-or-cure' kind of  
solution though so I'd only suggest it as a last resort. I\d imagine  
it'd be real easy to damage the logic board that way.

Apple and laptops... never the greatest combination known to man :\
