I'd suggest pillow cases + washing machine.  Delicate bags are waaaay too small.

I use pillow cases to wash my paintball knee and elbow pads, as well
as to wash my pack which holds my paintball pods.  The pillow case is
mostly to keep the velcro from doing bad things to other stuff in the
washer.

Sounds like a half-dozen or so pillow cases and 3 loads or so should
do it.  I'd also run them through the spin cycle a second time after
moving the cases around inside the washer to get the bricks moved
around to get more water out.

Dump them out on a sheet strung up like a hammock--they'll dry faster
on that than on a towel.

I wish I was one of your kids--that'd be an awesome Christmas present.
