"console extender" is indeed more what I'm looking for, and is actually
what I meant in the first place when my brain supplied "IP KVM".  ("It's
using CAT5," brain says, "naturally it'd run IP, right?")  As previously
mentioned, audio isn't a problem, running a 50' audio line alongside the
CAT5 is trivial.
